A wonderful time up there lyrics2/28/2023 ![]() And we just remain open and share our experience and hope that it inspires others to keep moving forward, to give back to their community and to keep sharing. So, I think we use the foundation to legitimize as much of our work as we can. We know well that marriage equality was not the end of the fight for equality and representation and economic justice. To help small grassroots organizations reach out directly into the community to help LGBTQ youth and women and trans men and non-binary folks is so meaningful. And I love that the foundation allows us to build on that. I hope that our sharing of our story will help others. Obviously, we tell our stories about being queer and musicians and women in the industry to anyone who will listen in hopes that others might hear them and resonate or find meaning in them. I think that’s our way of doing something similar. Good for you! And that links into the foundation for me. Mentorship and sharing of common experiences are so important. Well first of all, that’s wonderful you now mentor teenagers who are going through the same thing you did. ![]() You've done so much to save lives, from your foundation to bringing joy and understanding through your music- What are you the most proud of doing in the world? What advice would you have for the next generation of unusual and awesome queer kids? (PS thank you for being our group's heroes for the past ~20 years!) ![]() I now mentor teenagers who did the same thing. I was part of a group of queer kids who moved away from home and started college at age 14 back in 2003. ![]()
